Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of AusCalcs. They are deliberately blunt about one thing above all: our calculators produce estimates, not advice. Rates current as at 25 August 2026.
General information only
The calculators and information on AusCalcs are provided for general information and educational purposes only. They do not constitute financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, credit assistance, or any other professional advice. You should not rely on any calculation result as the basis for a financial decision without first obtaining advice tailored to your circumstances.
Not a substitute for professional advice
Tax law and financial regulation are complex. Our results are estimates based on the figures you enter and the simplifying assumptions built into each calculator. Individual circumstances — tax history, eligibility for concessions and offsets, entity structure, trust distributions, prior-year losses, residency status and much else — can materially change the real answer. Always consult a registered tax agent, financial planner, mortgage broker, conveyancer or other qualified professional before acting.
Accuracy of rates
Every rate, threshold and bracket on AusCalcs is taken from a primary government source and carries a visible review date. We correct errors as soon as we find them, and we would rather publish nothing than publish a number we cannot source. Even so: rates change, legislation is amended, and there can be a delay between a change taking effect and our calculators reflecting it. We do not warrant that any figure is complete, accurate or current at the moment you read it. If you spot a discrepancy against an official source, please tell us — we treat that as a bug.
Announced versus legislated
Where a measure has been announced but not yet passed into law, we label it as announced rather than legislated, and we do not silently build unlegislated rates into calculator results. Budget-night measures in particular can change substantially before they take effect.
No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AusCalcs and its operators exclude all liability for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including consequential or indirect loss) arising from your use of, or reliance on, any information or calculator on this website. This includes decisions made on the basis of calculator outputs. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Availability
We provide the site free of charge and on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any calculator at any time — for example, when a rate change makes an old calculator misleading.
Intellectual property
All content on AusCalcs — text, calculators, code and design — is the property of AusCalcs and protected by Australian copyright law. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted. You may not reproduce, redistribute or commercially exploit our content without prior written consent.
Journalists, educators and bloggers: you may quote our figures and cite our data tables provided you attribute AusCalcs and link to the page you took the figure from. Where a calculator offers an embed snippet, you may embed it as supplied, with its attribution link intact.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other users.
- Do not present our calculators or results as your own work or as personalised advice to your clients.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation or security.
Regulatory position
AusCalcs operates in accordance with ASIC Corporations (Generic Calculators) Instrument 2026/41, which provides relief from the requirement to hold an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence for publishers of generic calculators meeting specified criteria. Qualifying calculators must be generic rather than personalised, present results as estimates or illustrations only, disclose prominently that the output is not financial advice, and direct users to seek professional advice.
AusCalcs meets those requirements as follows:
- Generic estimates only. Our calculators use publicly available rates and standard formulas. They do not consider your full financial situation, objectives or needs.
- No personalised advice. We have no mechanism to provide personal financial product advice and do not recommend any product, lender, fund or course of action.
- Clear disclosure. Every calculator page states that outputs are estimates and not financial advice.
- Referral to professionals. Every page directs users to a qualified adviser for decisions specific to them.
- Current, sourced rates. Calculators run on current legislated rates with a visible review date and a linked primary source.
AusCalcs is not a financial services business and does not hold or require an AFS licence. We are not affiliated with any bank, lender, fund, accounting firm or government body, and we receive no commission from any financial product.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of AusCalcs after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The review date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
